2013 Draft

Watching the NY Yankees-Cardinal game, I began wondering where Aaron Judge was drafted. Well, I looked it up. He was drafted 32 in the first round of the 2013 draft. The Cardinals drafted Rob Kaminsky, a left handed pitcher several picks ahead of Judge. Thirty-one teams passed on Judge. Wonder what the Cards’ fortunes would have been had they picked Judge.

Cards probably would have messed with his swing and turned him into a bunter.
I joke to cover the baseball pain.

They wouldn't have brought him up to help the team. Don't want to get his major league clock ticking. If Willson and Donnie can't play, put one or both on the injured list and see what JJ can do.

He would be a dodger or yankee right now cardinals wouldn’t have shelled out 400 million for him

Obviously, he could have made a big difference to the fortunes of the team…until he reached or neared free agency. At that point, he would have been gone for a supplemental draft pick or traded. Based on the track record of this organization over the last few years, it’s doubtful the draft pick or trade acquisitions would amounted to anything other than more Quad A flotsam.

The Cardinals could not pick Judge.
It is a separation of church and state thing.
In 2001, the Cardinals picked Pope though.

Then they chose Church in 2022, 11th round. You are on to something here.

Dont know how he would have done early on, but he would have still been wearing a Yankee uniform tonight, even if the Cards DID draft him.
