LOL...Brewers were down 8-1 and came back to beat Cincy for 13th in a row

They're unconscious right now. Yelich hit two homeruns and they are a juggernaut. When you give up 8 runs early, you lose probably 90% of the time.

Can you even imagine the pressure that they'll be under when they're in the playoffs. Expectations have to be World Series or bust. They'll get a first round bye to think about it.

Hope their luck is not peaking too soon.... they will cool off. Honestly, I would like to see them with the WS. If we cannot, then I pull for small markets to win.

Yeah, the odds are so stacked against them but they're rolling right now. They should have lost that game against Cincy, lol but what can you say it is Cincy. Against a team with some decent relief pitchers it would have probably been over. But as they say, the playoffs are a different animal. If nothing else they'll have a Central Division Title (for whatever that's worth). LOL

A couple of days before the Brewers started their 13 game winning streak they saw their 11 streak end.
In the two months they've won 38 and lost 9.
During that span they've slashed 296/363/472. That's like having a team where every batter hits like Freddy Freeman.
Their staff is working on a 3.35 ERA with K/W > 3. Think Carlos Rodon.
It's all working for them. I'm starting to think they'll just win out.

If they win that would be great. But they are built for 162 game season. In a seven game game series i'm not sure.

Gee, it's amazing that you can build a good quality baseball team in a small Market on a small budget with a good GM and have a good manager, and ownership that actually cares. You never would have thought that living in St Louis the last five years

Good post, thanks for the stats.
Brew crew are on a run for sure.

I love whatever that park is called now. A retractable roof with a vibrant tailgating culture. Lots of great family memories. I'd like to see them win it all but I think they fall to the Dodgers or Padres.

90%? ChatGPT begs to differ...
Historical Win Expectancy (WE) Reference
After the 2nd inning, if a team is ahead 8–1, the run differential is +7 with 7 innings remaining.
Based on historical MLB data (hundreds of thousands of games since 1970s), when a team has a 7+ run lead after 2 innings, they go on to win well over 95% of the time.
In fact, once the lead reaches 7 runs at any point in the first 3 innings, the win probability is ~97–98%.
By comparison:
5-run lead after 2 innings ≈ 90–92% win chance
7-run lead after 2 innings ≈ 97–98% win chance
8+ run lead after 2 innings ≈ 98–99% win chance
F'n Brewers. They've got to be cheating somehow. lol And I'm not even talking about illegal cheating neccessarily, but what they're doing right now is just incredibly unlikely. Or maybe just incredibly frustrating when you're a Deadbirds fan. haha

A couple years ago the Brewers were hot (not this hot ) as they entered the final month . Then as they had a playoff spot clinched they cooled down the last week and half to 2 weeks of the regular season. Many thought they would rekindle the winning when it hit the playoffs. Nope they stay cold and got bounced out .
The Brewers are 28-4 the last 32 games . Don't know how the final 40 will look but super high expectations by Brewer fans will be tough pill to swallow if they get bounced in playoffs. Right now they have that invincible look . Things can change in a heartbeat.

Sometimes teams just get on an incredible role. There's an old saying, "Streaks follow streaks." They better hope their streaks hold out or it's going to be a disappointing winter.

I think they might make it to the Series but probably choke at the last moment in it. That's got to be unbelievable pressure if they get down in the playoffs. Right now though they can do no wrong.
