To Oli every problem is a nail and Burleson is his hammer.

With Contreras and Donovan unable to play, yet the team won't call up Fermin or other Memphis player, further proof that the Cardinals are quite content to lose - playing with two position players short on the bench. That is a major disadvantage in the late innings - I am certain the Yankees are grateful to the Cardinals for being so dense.

I feel Marmol, actually, likes Burleson as a hitter even more than me. LOL

Perhaps, but you must admit his options are a little limited.

Oli is limited now. But even in better times no slump earned Burleson the same doghouse Carlson, Gorman, and Walker had

You're funny. Burleson is simply a better all around hitter than those three.

It can happen that circumstances arise that you could have to play short for a day. It should never happen that you have to play short for day(s).

We had an off day Thursday, Contreras and Donovan didn’t play Friday and now they can’t play Saturday. Why would you want your team to play short for days at a time. Just use the 10 day IL. Is this anything more than a money saving effort?

Pozo has quite a bit of experience at 1B (I suspect the majority of folks don't know that).
The obvious decision, being short of RH bats to face a LH pitcher, is to start him there with Contreras not available.
Completely predictable that The Marmot lacks the intelligence to do so.

Winn has a 318 OBP against LHP. Burleson only makes it to 301.

Fried has been knocked around a bit lately but he still has a sub-3 ERA. He's still Max Fried. He should handle those table-setters easily.

He was a close friend but got swept in a flash flood several years ago. His last words were tell my wife and nine kids bye. And ask Wee Vikes why he never met with us for some Ted Drewes or Imo's.
