A GM said his value is 2 fold. Best pitcher in baseball value and his contract value. He is a $50m per season talent making pre arb $ so over the next 5 seasons he will be underpaid over $200m so that equivalent is 4 players. Then his best player at position value of 4 players. 8 players including a teams top 5 and then 3 more of Pit choice is the current cost. So Walker Doyle Wetherholt Matthews one of the Catchers and 3 more. That GM also said Pit will not find a buyer for 3 more seasons because a team will have to sell its farm to afford him.

He literally said the premise(of the Cards trading for Skenes) is silly.

While the SP is in desperate need of an upgrade, have you been paying attention to our offense?

Last thing we should be doing is dealing away a young hitter who could possibly be the engine of this offense for years.

Regarding the Pirates their manager was ejected for arguing balls and strikes which is why MLB needs more than the projected 2 ball/strike reviews per game next season. Should be at least 1 per inning and you get it back if the call is overturned.

Heard Mo had some serious discussions with Pittsburgh involving Skenes. But it broke down when he refused to include Roycroft. Something about "prying him from his cold, dead hands".
