Obviously a joke. But (bleep), Andre need some time in the bullpen to reset.

They took a bad reliever and made him a starter. I never quite understood the experiment in the first place.

If FA stands for Free Agent, what pitchers do you think will sign with our St. Louis Cardinals?

You are wildly optimistic thinking they are going to sign free agents this winter. Perhaps they pick up 1 veteran on a 1 year deal. Quintana would have been great this year...I think they will trade for a ML ready starting prospect from the pile of Nootbar, Gorman, Saggese, etc.

Gray
Liberatore
McGreevy
Acquired starter
Veteran free agen?
Matthews
Thompson?
Doyle

I would not have Pallante on my list. They got rid of Hudson and Pallante is worse than Hudson. The problem is that they are lacking starting pitching depth big time. Perhaps in 2027 the injured boys all return or they are destined to be injured forever...

The injured boys never have produced in the majors even when healthy so yeah, I wouldn’t count on them. Hence…really??? If we ever get positive War from him it will be a bonus. Seems like a Reyes type at best. Maybe 1 good season before he retires?

Then guys like Roby, as I understand we need to add him to the 40 men this year which takes up a spot or we have to put them on the active roster to move him to the 60 day disabled list which starts his clock. Both are bad options so having a minor leaguer go down with TJ might result with them being eventually severed from the organization.

Last place in NLC then. That rotation may be worst in baseball. Imagine if Gray goes down. He has never pitched this long without injury before in his career. Due factor

Well they have a logjam of 3-4 players to trade and $100mnto spend. Isn’t that Blooms strength? Acquiring players. Make it happen

Just for reference, Fedde picked up a win yesterday for the Braves, even though he never really fooled the Marlins--5 hits but no HRs, 4 walks, 4 Ks, 4 ERs.

On-again off-again board favorite Sandy Alcantara pitched worse and took the loss.

Pallante just can't find any consistent starts. 7 innings of shutout ball then gets raked a couple of times. He's quickly running out of time. We are going nowhere this year might as well leave him in there to see if he can find it. If so great if not then off he goes next spring and Matthews, Doyle, Roby or Hence takes his place (if Roby or Hence could ever stay healthy that is). I agree with others that a Quintana type on a 1 or 2 yr deal would be a good idea for next year.

But he had a great start last time out.

As I stated before, he is effective when he has command, and hit hard when not. It’s a matter of consistency. Some pitchers get it as they mature. Some never get it.

The word “pile” is a great descriptor of the people you named.

Been saying for some time, NO WAY they can go into 2026 w/Pallante in the SR.

He's not a ML starter.

Back to the pen'.

Cards need to bring up Matthews in September for an audition for the 2026 rotation.
