So is Walker really a AAAA player?

His at bats just look careless and sloppy, and always has that dumb confused look on his face.
We REALLY need Wetherholt and Bernal to pick up the prospect slack

Maybe even 2.
.257 .331 .414 .745 Walker in 529 AAA plate appearances which is below average for a AAA hitter. And of course he's well below average defensively.

Quad an implies he dominates AAA, his career ops there is like .750. Wild looking back to consider he never even proved himself in AAA. And a lot of us were all for bringing him up. Oops.

All fair points, been pulling for him and I know he is 23, but he doesn't look like he is figuring anything out.

He's toast as far as I'm concerned. They F'd him up so bad by messing with his swing and trying to rush his development. All because Mo needed a shiny new toy to take the attention off his blunders.
He's still young so there's a chance but I agree with whoever said he looks confused. Having been an athlete the majority of my life, I've worn and witnessed "the look" a player wears when they've figured it out and have confidence.
His face says the opposite.

They did rush him but them trying to stop him from hitting groundballs and start hitting line drives has nothing to do with the terrible at bats he takes

His face says everything-no confidence in himself, he is hoping something good happens instead of expecting
Until that changes, nothing else matters

Ya, I don’t like the excuse of “They screwed him up” as an organization. The guy stinks, just absolutely stinks.

In all fairness, he was hitting almost .290 since the All-Star break, and looking a lot better, but then Nootbaar came off the IL and now Walker is sitting every other day. That doesn’t help give a kid much confidence! If the Cardinalsvare going to keep messing with him, he’d be better off somewhere else. Then, when he takes off, everyone will be screaming!

Right. Before going 1 for 11 so far in August, he was hitting over 300 with a 800+ OPS after coming off the DL. Looked like he was figuring things out then he started sitting more.
I'm more interested in seeing what his July through September numbers look like for a better picture going forward to 2026.

6 yrs MLB...Carlson
12 years...
Grich...$57 million
Pham...12 year, $39 million
He's nowhere near all but Carlson

You wear that look everyday. It's ok to admit it

Man, excuses. Big whoop, he hit OK for a few weeks. Blind squirrel. Happens all the time inLB.
Next year he parks his butt in AAA and has to earn his way back or he's done as a Cardinal.

He was good as a rookie until they changed his swing.

The genius of Ollie Marmol strikes again. Walker is playing every day, seems to have found a groove. Noot comes off the IL so Marmol starts platooning them and Walker tanks. Noot is a classic 4th OF, not an everyday player and has 4 seasons of stats that prove it. Walker may be a player, he may not. But in a lost season let him play for crying out loud. Sink or swim from RF, not the bench. Just my 2 pennies.
