Cardinals have turned to drinking to get fans to show up

I just received an email from the Cardinals. Here is part of it:
"The weekend is so close, and we've got just the thing to help jumpstart it! Grab your crew and get ready for Friday Night Live at Busch Stadium – the ultimate kick off to your weekend with $5 Beers, $5 Hot Dogs, $6 Margaritas, Live Music and more!
Friday Night Live at Busch Stadium is the hottest happy hour in the Lou, set in heart of the ballpark, in Budweiser Terrace! Enjoy happy hour priced ballpark eats and drinks - every Friday night home game, all game long!"
The drinks are so cheap that we could have some fights and possibly some drunk drivers. I do understand that it is easier to watch this team for those who are heavy drinkers.

Wait, so now we’re going to complain about the team making efforts to get more people at the ballpark?

yes, because its lipstick on a pig when they refuse to spend the money they do have on starting pitching which will draw fans to the ballpark. they will try anything else but filling the big pitching and hitting hole. Focus on the wrong thing, and fail. Again, the amusement park experience , not a build a post season ball club focus continues to reign ... they will get to 3 mil attendance when a quality team is on the field, and not before, regardless of the 1000s of amusement park experience improvements they can invent. Maybe some day it will sink in, that it actually has to be about the actual level of baseball on the field.

I would rather see a winning team or at least a team that is exciting. I don't need cheap drinks or a bobblehead.

That's great. For you. They need to cater to all different sorts of fans, though, not just you. Getting more people to the ballpark is a good thing.

I'll take that kind of promotion over bobbleheads any day. Keep the trinkets to themselves.

Woah, a team advertising cheap food and drinks? This is a bold new strategy by the team. Certainly has never been done before!

Casual fans are important. Young fans are important. Families are important. If it takes bobbleheads to get them into the ballpark, do it.

Yep. It's CT...(buzz) about attendance, (buzz) about the front office. Fail to see how the down attendance is how you show your displeasure, so they should be happy...voting with the wallet.
But alas, they gotta (buzz) about a great deal

$5 beer isn’t cheap. But that may enable some fans to buy 2 instead of their usual 1.

Well, as long as they don't have "Meth Day," guess it's ok.

Every single team in baseball, good, bad or in between, does promotions.
Food and drink
Bobbleheads
Jerseys
Blankets
Hats
T-shirts
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Every. Single. Team.

Oh my, a business that sells food and drinks is offering discounts on food and drinks. How dare they? If anybody is drinking and driving it’s not the cardinals fault. Rather, it’s the person who freely chooses to drink and drive. I mean, are you going to blame imos if if they promote cheap pizzas and some guy gets diabetes? Just stop it with this ridiculous obsession with the blaming the cardinals for every single decision they make.
