That's a horrible infield at the cornersWhatashame wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 22:14 pm I have repeatedly mentioned this. If there’s a spot on this team for him, it’s at 1B. If we keep Donovan our infield going forward should be
1B Gorman
2B Wetherholt
SS Winn
3B Donovan
If Bloom decides to move Donovan for a good return fine but if he’s here make him the 3B of the future. Gorman should be looked at as a 1B and should be given a hard look there. 2B….3B aren’t his best options.

Kkorns back won't let him survive 1b or 3b. Hurdy needs to be traded. He's not a 3b, plays meh 2bWhatashame wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 07:54 amscoutyjones2 wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 07:36 amThat's a horrible infield at the cornersWhatashame wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 22:14 pm I have repeatedly mentioned this. I don’t think that’s how we end up at all but if Gorman ends up anywhere, I believe 1B is the best place for him. Not 2B, not 3B. I also think that Donovan belongs on the infield, not as a corner outfielder. Bloom may well end up moving Donovan for help in another area. I see Wetherholt and Winn as our middle infield defense for the next 10 years.
As usual, we need outfielders. At least two of them. This has been a need for years now and that hasn’t stopped. Donovan and Scott as 2/3 of an outfield would be a disaster.
Every STL infielder dropped balls, missed easy plays, and/or made a poor throw during the SD series - and every one of them, including Gorman, also made at least one outstanding defensive play as well.redbirdfan51 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 21:22 pm His play at 3B lately has been disappointing. Hopefully Nolan G shows better defensively and gets hot with the bat.
Why him over Willson at 1B? He'd be a defensive downgrade and DH allows him to be platooned vs. lefties.Whatashame wrote: ↑03 Aug 2025 22:14 pm I have repeatedly mentioned this. If there’s a spot on this team for him, it’s at 1B. If we keep Donovan our infield going forward should be

as much as I still have high hopes for Gorman, I'm not ready to trade Andy Van Slyke to make room for Jim Lindeman just yetBrockFloodMaris wrote: ↑04 Aug 2025 08:21 am Gorman, Burly and Blaze are three good reasons for Bloom to work hard to get Nado and Contreras to waive their NTCs this offseason.
