This team is pathetic. They no starting pitching and basically no offense. In early July they had a 52 inning scoreless streak. And gong to the 5 th inning today , they had scored 1 run in 33 innings.
Gorman, Nootbarr, Scott, and Arenoda can’t hit. Walker is close to them. In today’s game through 8 innings they had struck out 15 times , including 4 innings where all 3 outs were strikeouts. They didn’t do much at the trade deadline because what do they have to offer(pitchers with ERA’s over 4 and over 5.

Did you watch the 9th inning ? The 'effort ' isn't lacking IMO. What's lacking is the 'ability' to perform well. The team tries, they just cannot execute due to inferior ability.

AAA talent trying to play in the majors. Out of their 27 outs, 16 were strike outs.

They did score eight last e’en.

They scored 8 runs last night. Bone up on facts if you want to make valid points.

We just traded our 3 best relievers. We are away playing one of the most talented teams in baseball. We aren't as good as many of the teams but help seems on the way. Why whine? Do something more productive with your time.

I'd love to agree with you but I just don't buy it. Granted, injuries played a big part, but inferior ability doesn't play half a season at 9 games over .500, a near +100 run differential, top-10 offense, best D in MLB, and above average starting pitching and bullpen.

Clearly, there's some ability there because they showed it for the first 3 months. It's not like the whole league just suddenly found the great Cardinal weakness secret and began exploiting it. When talent goes unextracted or misappropriated, the fault lies in leadership to some degree.

There's been plenty of players Cards fans thought were lacking in ability when they were traded and showed the only lacking was in the Cardinals ability to utilize it properly.

Wake up. the team is in a rebuild and you should be hoping that they lost. They draft choices in the top 10, not in the low 20's. Watch the kids play and look forward to the future.

There should be no fan here that shouldn’t want them to draft in the low 20s…….

They can't have a top 10 pick in 2026. Highest they can pick is #11.
