It's that they don't think about them at all.

Saw this article from the Athletic/NYT, so take it was a huge grain of salt, but evidently an anonymous poll was take of MLB players as to the teams they would want to play for and wouldn't want to play for, and these are the alleged results:

To me it isn't so much they ranked low, but that they were even mentioned on so few ballots.

The fact that only 7 organizations had more “Bad” than the Cardinals is striking. And tells me a lot about how far we’ve fallen. I guarantee you that wouldn’t have been the case about a decade ago.

surprised to see the Bosox and Phillies so low

Cards being low is no surprise at all.

This basically seems to be a survey of how well run they think the teams are. I'm surprised by Reds and Nationals being as high as they are.

126 respondents across 30 teams, ... maybe. That's 4 players per team

They don't think about the Brewers, Tigers, Orioles, Royals either. Even the Padres didn't score great.

Grain of salt taken.

I like how the Rays are so polarizing. Some really like them. Others really don't.

these days? that started years ago .. that just didn't happen now

the downfall of the Cards organization happened ages ago already.. this was always so predictable, and it won't change until new owners

Slow sports day ? So few answered compared to the number of major leaguers makes the poll worthless.

I've been saying repeatedly that ownership allowed their brand to die. This is more clear evidence of that.

Ignoring data because you don't agree with it isn't the answer.

Friend,

Only 126 respondents. No profile for how many responded from which teams. Can't really conclude anything from the nice looking bar chart.

Can you link us to the full article? But I know folks get offended here when I ask for links and context. But if you want an honest discussion, ...

Never mind. I see the link now

Cheers.

It’s too bad some players didn’t want to not play for the cardinals and would waive their NTC. Heck the cardinals problem is players refuse to leave
