I know it’s a lot of money, Karraker put it well, I couldn’t think of the words to put it until I heard it, but they need to see 3B position as a portfolio, you eat the money but think about what Gorman, Wetherholt, Saggese, Donny, Jordan at 3B could produce there as a whole.

Nado is washed, COOKED. Time to move on from his mess, or bench him, which is worse I think

No

If BDWJr eats $20M, then Bloom can find a taker for him w/little more than a lotto ticket as the return.

None. Ownership decision. They don't do that.

I agree that Nado's value to the Cards is mostly gone. He is truly blocking a bunch of kids that need to show us what they have at the MLB level. My guess is that during the offseason, Bloom will move NA plus $20M for a box of #2 scorecard pencils.

No chance Arenado is DFA'd. There is a chance the Cardinals eat a good part of remaining contract for a landing spot in another org.

What are the chances Nado waives his NTC? Or even accepts a bench role moving forward.

What are the chances he recovers a useable bat. Don't even care about the power.

He is owed $37M for 2026/2027.
Even if the Cards kicked back half they would save $18M plus get some type of prospect(s).

I think you have to accept he is isnt going anywhere. With that said I really like your statement about being a bench bat / platoon. Ultimately this is IMO next steps and potentially final steps.

He just hit the IL with a shoulder injury, which it seems like he's been playing with since just after the finger problem. I would guess since they want to see the kids and there's no rush, they let him heal up 100%. Over the offseason, if they can move him for the right combo of sending cash and getting prospects back I think they will, otherwise they probably hope the extra long rest let's him reverse some of the nosedive he's in. If Gorman et al don't blow the doors off, maybe you play him back at 100% to start the year in 2026 and hope he stays healthy and productive enough to trade him at the deadline.

They ate $17M of Mike Leake's salary and $12M of Dexter Fowler's.

Not much of a chance. Too much money involved. But, he really doesn’t add much to the team. It’s time to cut bait, but they won’t.

I don't remember the amount, but they cut bait on Jhonny Peralta in the last 1-2 years if I remember correctly

If Arenado continues to decline and is an offensive hole in the lineup blocking younger players, BDW Jr is eating $20M anyway.

We would immediately be a better team

Right now we have Tom Lawless playing 3B

No you bench him, make him miserable and he will high tail it out of here ASAP - he can go play for somebody

Miserable millionaires find a way to get out

Most will say no because the club has never shown the willingness to eat that kind of money, but I do think it is a pretty distinct possibility.

He’s legitimately in the way at this point.
