If he refuses to be traded and they don't play him, how do you see this working out? Gorman is putting up numbers close to his. This could end up in a mess? How does a player like him lose it this fast?

Arenado would cause a lot of problems and it would get ugly in the media

Don't worry. As long as Nada is a Cardinal, he is a starter. Everyone should know by now, the contract plays in this org.

I thought this thread was gonna be about 1940 minor leaguer Nolan Adley... please be more specific with your thread titles in the future.

If BDWJr is willing to eat $20M this winter, then I'd bet C. Bloom moves him.

There is no controversy here. As long as Arenado is here he will be the primary 3B. That doesn't mean his playing time won't be less going forward, but he IS the 3B.

There is a solution for the short term. Arenado, this year, isn't hitting squat against right handers

Arenado right handers BA .213 OBP .275 SLG .350 OPS .625. Now left handers he's doing fine BA .296 OBP .346 SLG .408 OPS .754 maybe not great but good enough for now.

So he gets the short end of a platoon with Gorman.

Gorman while not great either way hits righties ok,
Gorman right handers BA .230 OBP .316 SLG .414 OPS .731 but lefties not so good BA .182 OBP .288 SLG .386 OPS .675

So let Gorman's "runway" be at 3rd base against right handers and Arenado can go against the lefties. If Ivan is going to play some in LF the rest of the year. Gorman can move between 2B, 3B and DH. Arenado 3B and DH. Ivan LF, C, Dh. Plenty of playing time for all 3.

Ivan, Gorman (when healthy), Walker, and Scott need to be on the field somewhere every day to find out if they are the future or failures.

Arenado playing against righties with the line he has this year is dumb.

In a perfect world, Arenado would've accepted a trade.
