Hence, Gorman, and Walker for Alcantara and Cabrera.

Roberts has been awful for a few years until a recent splurge and he's owed $20M on a club option next year. Would you pay that? I wouldn't and I don't think the Sox will. So he may be a free agent.
I like Cabrera, but not Alcantara.

Roberts has been awful for a few years until a recent splurge and he's owed $20M on a club option next year. Would you pay that? I wouldn't and I don't think the Sox will. So he may be a free agent.
I like Cabrera, but not Alcantara.
Donovan Helsley and Arenado for Jobe. Rental, bad contract and the LH bat they wanted. Rumor is they wanted to make a big move to go all in. Imagine Jobe and Doyle

I would have done that deal as well. They get the lift they may need for a ring and Cards get future TOTR.

That wouldn’t have got them unless they included JJ and Doyle. The fact that they weren’t traded says all you need to know about the asking price
