quiet off season, this team is the pirates, I think a good chance they will keep him to the cba lockout. Something like he knows these guys who are still developing might be an excuse. But, who knows. I think maybe the real manager is hired after CBA. What quality manager takes the job when they will not pay for pitching with plenty money on hand in 2026?

Hes not getting fired at this point in the season. It makes no sense now. After the season is a different story.

How do you fire the manager for team record on a team that owners said was just throwing out what they had in a reset season, and then this guy had them above 500 until trade deadline etc? But they fired Schildt lol

Makes no sense to fire him now. It serves no purpose other than feeding the sharks.

Also, don't be too surprised if he isn't fired after Bloom takes over. He may just wait until the CBA is resolved. No sense bringing in a new manager (when the current one is under contract) for 3\4 of a season and then continuing to pay the new guy during a prolonged strike\lockout.

I have wondered why they passed over Stubby to hire Marmol. Stubby was very successful at Memphis. Was there a sound reason, or was it true that Mo wanted someone he could control?
