Anything is possible but I would side with Helsley's comment , ' there is a 90 % chance I will be traded ' Seems to be he had internal private discussions with MO (front office ) and they told him expect to move . We feel there are several teams very interested in you. Makes sense for our club to get something for you as a 2 month rental . We will keep the door open for you to return to us in the offseason. Helsley has indicated he would like to rejoin the team .

Giants are now saying their relievers are available and Colorado willing to trade their relievers. The market is getting flushed with relievers which could drive down prices.

Mo is just waiting to get the most possible return, as usual. However, let’s hope he doesn’t wait too long and every other team have filled their needs, as usual!

Few trades are happening. That's the way it is and has been.

It takes two to make a trade. The buying teams are looking for the best deal, especially if the guy will be a FA at the end of the season.

To everyone complaining about Oli and the trade possibilities, remember he doesn't have anything to do with it.

I have been curious about Mo and his approach. Do you think he pursues trades or waits for teams to come to him. He seems like the type that won’t make the first move and that puts him at a disadvantage.

Saw an interview w/him and he flat out said "Probably won't see anything happening until the final hours or minutes".

My prediction is they send Helsley out there for 4 outs and 30 pitches tonight for the save and he blows his arm out

Maybe he will wait til after 4 pm CT tomorrow (during the final hour of the trade deadline ) . Then the blockbuster gets announced . Once Helsley is traded, you will see more relievers traded after that as the teams that were bidding on Helsley now go to Plan B they had set as their backup plan.
Teams never put all their eggs in one trade basket . You must have your backup plan ready to go when it becomes apparent you are not getting Helsley , if he was your first choice.

Regarding Helsley , Mo will wait for the teams to come to him with their package offers. Actually , I think for that deal it puts him at advantage . He has the reliever that is highly rated . You make them come to you .

As for the other guys, his approach would be somewhat different. He can both pursue and/ or wait .

Who cares as long as he actually makes some good trades? And it's not like star players at the positions that the Cardinals have to deal are flying off the shelf.

If the deadline goes by and nothing changes, by all means, get upset. But who cares whether he gets in front of the market or not? Besides, I'm guessing you think he sucks. If so, do you really want him getting out in front and misjudging the market?
