Gray already said multiple times he will veto any trade with NTC

The Cardinals should have approached Atlanta about Gray last offseason. Atlanta would have been a presumptive contender that would have been as close to Gray's TN home.

He said he would prefer to stay in St. Louis at least through the season.

That was per John Denton who's reporting I trust about as far as I could throw him He also said - "the right-hander again conveyed that he prefers to stay in St. Louis — at least for the remainder of the current season. Barring a late change of heart, it seems Gray will remain with the Cardinals for the balance of the regular season."

When Derrick Goold asked him - "The 35-year-old Gray declined to elaborate beyond the mere fact that he and Mozeliak had recently talked about the matter."

Katie Woo reported this weekend that the Cardinals would “entertain” offers on Gray and that Mozeliak had gauged interest from some clubs.

Cinn is a worse team than the Cardinals and any trade would require taking on his $35m salary next season. Gray wanting to go to a lesser contender and Cincinnati wanting to add that payroll seems unlikely at best. That would leave the Cardinals with Libertore McGreevy and Pallante as their only SP for next season. Get ready for 70 wins.

Healthy, the Reds have the best rotation in the Central, eventually the National League. They need their offense to click on a nightly basis, a decent veteran or two could help all come together. The Reds, as of today, are in much better spot as an Org than the Cards.

The author, Josh Jacobs, cites his OWN REPORTING which is a second/third hand misrepresentation of what Katie Woo ACTUALLY reported first hand.

This is stupid.

Cincy is a game and a half better than the Cardinals in the standings and are loaded with young talent. The Cardinals are much farther away from competing than the Reds are. Take off your homer goggles for a couple minutes every once in awhile.

Missing bats not SP. their offense is too strikeout heavy. If anything they should trade SP for a player like Donovan.

Cinn is worse than Stl?

Do you have access to the standings?

If the cards are not legit contenders does it matter how many they win?

Their missing peices are bats. Their SP is not missing a $35m 36year old SP.

Neither of them are and Gray would want to go to a good team with a chance for a WS.

Standings change daily and are close-ish to even. Meanwhile We've beaten them 4 out of 7 head to head. So yeah.

I would think Gray would approve of a trade to the Reds or the Braves.
