Deleted my post on this after seeing this one. Appears Cards were not too forthcoming on releasing the news according to the reports

Meaning he most likely won't be ready for St. Louis until 2028 at the earliest.

As I have often said about the Cardinals management and their lack of honesty with the fans. Just another example.

His violent delivery was a TJ waiting to happen.

Among other things this creates 40-man challenges... they now have two injured pitchers taking up 40-man spots (Roby and Robberse), with Hjerpe needing to be added as well.

Move Roby to the 60 day IL?

So even the trade we thought was good is still pending in the Monty trade
Roby will be 26ish by the time he is healed and developed in the minors
Saggese has shown flashes, but still a lot to prove
King overall has been serviceable, I think
Moe is trash

My understanding is that moving him to the 60-day IL requires promoting him to the majors, which starts his service time. But I'm not totally clear on that.

Liam Doyle?
Seems you either get strikeout stuff and injuries or pitch-to-contact mediocrity.
Funny that the Dodgers triple down on these pitchers and still struggle to fill a starting staff at the end of the year.
There has to be a happy medium. New tact is to draft as many high velo pitchers as you can and develop. Then hope a couple survive.

Dang. Is Shady ok? Roby just can't stay healthy, time to put him on the back burner as far as prospects

Doyle in my opinion will be an ELITE closer.
He can't carry that velo over 5-6 innings against MLB hitters.
