It’s laughable at how the Cardinals brain trust think this guy is good…… Average catcher that can’t hit… The talent evaluation is scary bad

IF a guy is a defensive catcher you must bring the D.
He may well be the worst D catcher for the Cardinals that I
remember at defense. The Cardinals only have 50 game catchers
on the current roster, IMO. Chose 1 from the 3.

He can finish out the year and then be DFA'd.

I’ve been telling all of you since May…..

Pozo>Pages

I was ridiculed at first by those clamoring about Pages’s defensive prowess and his catchers era!?!?

Now it seems the board has finally opened their eyes!

Pages sucks! He is an Oli kiss butt and a class clown.

Before some try to put words in my mouth…. I don’t think Pozo is a 120 game MLB catcher either. I just know he is a far better option than Pages. I’d rate their defense as equal and there is no comparison in their offense.

Play Pozo!

Pages is definitely one of the players overrated by some on cards talk with Mel leading the charge. They thought the cards brief rotation success was because of pages pitcher whispering lol the worst thing about pages is he has trouble doing the most basic and important thing a catcher needs to do and that’s catch the ball and block it

Eye check here, and I do not see all of the

That was in April and in a comment regarding keeping 3 catchers
on the roster. I disagreed with the man in that Pages was somehow superior.
I still feel the same way about keeping those 3 catchers no need for 3
and if Herrera can't be a C he has less value IMO.

You can find those comments too that's been consistent. A couple that
I've agreed with your take on Pages. I've been consistent that if your ID is
defense you need more than average D.

I have changed my mind though since then. Pozo is a better back up
catcher than Pages thanks to reading others' opinions and watching both play.
I knew little about Pozo and Pages has digressed. Both are
backups.

Pages is LITERALLY the most depressing starter on this team. Absolutely 0 upside. No speed, no power, no defense, no arm, nada, nothing, zilch.

When he was popping one in the stands every other week he was tolerable. Now he's just a microcosm of the entire 25 team. A whole lot of below average getting starter's playing time.

G[od] F[orgives] Y[ou], Oli. You may go down as the worst Cards manager in MLB history. But at least you'll be able to smirk about it.

Pages is a serviceable backup, but Oli has exposed him with overuse by making him the de facto starter.

Have the Cards given up on Herrera as a C permanently or are they just protecting him from further injury this season?
