Gold glove third baseman Nolan Arenado has long been the subject of trade talk. Ever since he used his no-trade clause to squash a move to the Houston Astros in the offseason, the 34-year old slugger continues to be mentioned as a player that could be dealt.

I believe it should be quashed. But, I wonder if a trade happens?

I'm quoting a writer who used the word squash. These writers go to school and should know the meaning of squash compared to quashed. But again, I wonder if a trade gets done to move him.

Usually when someone quotes someone else, they use quotes, a citation, and maybe even provide a link.

If we could get a nice return......then, yes.....trade him. If not.....hang on and keep the team more competitive. I worry he might pull a Gallaraga on us. Remember when Andres was a stud for the Expos....we traded for him and he struggled. We gave him away and he was an All Star for years in Colorado.

ONLY way I see NADO going is if his hometown Dodgers come calling.

Galarraga had a second chance with the 1992 Cardinals; however, a pitch broke his wrist early in the season and he didn't recover until July. Galarraga batted .296 after the All-Star break and hit all ten of his homers after July 1.

yup, folks forget about the broken wrist really setting him back. he was really good towards the end of the year but they had already decided to let him go. big mistake.

which brings us to Ken Hill. Was traded to MTL for the big cat. it appeared he got his act together and finally became a good pitcher. STL ended up getting him back and found out it was smoke and mirrors. something to think about when talking about Alcantra

The Dodgers have the money. I think they need a closer more than a third baseman.

The best outcome for Nolan is that he starts next year as the starting third baseman, stays healthy and does well so he can be moved at the deadline next year. At that time his contract won’t be a big issue

I think we are stuck with the boat anchor and I hope that statement does not age well.

I read Phillies may be interested. Yankees are out. I think Suarez goes to Seattle ( supposedly they want him bad). That sort of leaves Cubs. Would we trade to Cubs in our division? I would hope so but wondering.

Of course the self centered boat anchor has to approve any deal.

Hopefully they've already made a offer for Helsley.

Looked it up......Andres struggled with Montreal the year before he came to us as well. Just sayin'......
