Get shutout in Colorado losing 2 of 3 to one of the worst teams in the history of baseball. Then take the first 2 from San Diego with a shutout win in game 2.

Nothing new here. Team, like many, simply plays to the level of its competition. The biggest difference in winning and losing. Hence strategy and clubhouse leadership. Winning is an attitude.

Just hope this series doesn't deter Mo from doing what he has to do, deal Helsley-Maton-Matz and ????.

IF the Cards end up sweeping the Padres (pause for laughter) ................... do you still feel this way?

1.5 games out of the wild card with 5 days left to make trades. I don't see a big sell off.

I do JDW

Helsley is a huge asset who brings back quality, he has to be dealt.

While not as valuable, Maton still has solid value.

Matz, meh a lotto pick but still needs to go.

Big mistake if that happens SM.

Helsley has to go, Mo can't screw up again (re: not dealing Fedde this offseason).

Maton should fetch a solid return, he goes too unless C. Bloom wants to keep him.

Matz, meh

Most likely won't see a BIG trade (re: Gorman or Donny or Noot) but he has to deal those three.

I won't disagree, but IF the Cards do sweep the Padres ......................... it does give me some pause.
Thought possibly I heard a heartbeat last night.
2011 did happen. IDK, lol.

And might also give Mo pause too.

Unfortunately there's no Albert-Holliday-Berkman-Freese-Yadi in this lineup, certainly no C. Carpenter monster leading the rotation.

I'd love to see them do it (of course).

But the right move this season is to deal those three expiring contracts they've shown no interest in retaining while giving Bloom more minor league assets when he starts the 2026 re-build.

It really isn't baffling. The Pirates just swept the Tigers. In a 162 game season there will be wins against better teams and loses versus inferior teams. Everything plays out in the end . None of that takes away the fact this team isn't very good .

We find out on Thursday. If Mozeliak and Bloom think they have adequate replacements perhaps there will be movement.

Cardinals broke an all time record getting shutout in Colorado. Uncommon incompetence.

Write MLB a letter.

https://www.mlb.com/news/rockies-end-st ... ut-shutout
It was not only the first shutout of the season for the 26-76 Rockies, but Colorado ended a span of 220 consecutive games without a shutout, a record in the Modern Era.
