will be paying him 16 mil, 16 mil the next 2 seasons.

You could of traded for Arenado, and would only be paying him 16mil, and 15 mil for the same time period.

And by taking on the deal, you pay less for him

this was a Mo'ron move by Yankees.

Plus, they are assuming the remaining $12 million left on this year’s contract.

No, they only owe McMahon about $4 MM for the rest of this season.

I’m just repeating what was reported on KOA radio, the Rockies’ flagship station.

McMahon bats LH, and with that short RF porch at Yankee Stadium, they think he will revive his home run output.

OK, well either MLB trade rumors or KOA have it wrong.

So they got a younger player who bats LH, is also a good fielder, was an All Star last year, and likely cost less in terms of prospects.

Seems pretty smart to me.

We're comparing with Arenado who wouldn't get the advantage of the short porch in NY.

He needs a zero gravity environment to have any chance at success. That only exist at Coors.

But Yankee stadium is like the 2nd best offensive park in MLB for a lot of hitters.

He’s a very fine defensive third baseman. Probably as good or better than Arenado at this stage.
