Either one would be an upgrade over Scott/Walker. Cruz is still cheap salary wise, and Reynolds isn't making obscene money given his ceiling. Maybe he's due for a bounceback with a change of scenery.
These seem like the types of trades for controllable proven players that the Cards could make to improve without spending 9 figures. What others are out there?

Cruz is probably the closest player to “superstar” talent that could be attainable this year. I have no idea what the asking price would be though.

There's no way it would cost JJ for Reynolds with that contract of his. He's not close to the player he used to be.
