Mikolas Next Start

He's pitching tomorrow. With Fedde's DFA, how much heat is Mikolas feeling? How many more starts is he going to be given?
I know DeWitt doesn't like to eat money, but this contract has been an abject failure.

Obviously I have no idea but if he drops a turd ImO he’s gone.

We don’t really have another SP though that is ready to contribute, so I can’t imagine he’s feeling a lot of heat in terms of that.

He's getting an extension

Once his contract shrinks under 3 million, around September 1, he will be DFA. Miles and BDW are Jupiter neighbors.
He might get removed from rotation before then if Leahy is ready.
Gray, Libby, McGreevey, Leahy and Pallante (very short rope on him too)

His next start should be in the local beer softball league

Newly signed starter Aaron Wilkerson threw 8 scoreless last night with just 78 pitches for Memphis. He's another KBO/NPB reclamation project who'd be making the minimum, so he fits the Mo/DeWitt profile. How much worse can he be?
Point is, they have non-MM options if they so choose.

Mikolas' next start, should be his last start
DFA
If Matz isn't dealt, then he starts
If no Matz, give the ball to Graceffo
If that's not an option, then do a bullpen start
Maikols should've been gone long ago.
DFA this loser if he gets rocked by the Padres.

Assuming Mikolas falters, and that’s not too big of an assumption, Leahy threw 50 pitches his last time out. Might be next up to replace Mikolas.

It's not like they need to stretch a guy out to go 8 or 9 or, frankly, even 6 or 7. The average innings per start last year wasn't even 5 1/3. So Leahy could step right in, it would seem.

Mikolas isn't going anywhere. Not to another team, not to the DFA list, not to the dugout. If/when he blows up again, he might get some IL time. But DeWitt isn't going to eat that contract. Mo wouldn't even ask.

Has to be do or die at this point, right?

I think a rational human being would agree. Is Moe rationale? Beats the chit out of me.

A team could be desperate for a player to give them some innings, if so Mikolas might be picked up by a team like that. He needs to be DFA’d just like Fedde. His attitude has been bad in my estimation. He takes no responsibility for his poor production, unlike the way Fedde did. Leahy, and or Graceffo would be better options moving forward.

Why start Matz? Let the youngsters start. See what they can do. If nothing else bring up Curtis Taylor for a few starts. If he sucks release him.

If he's not dealt, just an option for some posters claiming we don't have anyone to start if Mikolas is DFA'd.
(And I agree, Graceffo would be my first option if Mikolas is DFA'd)
