On the Rockies telecast last night, it was mentioned that Donovan had more hits than swings and misses this season. I thought that was interesting.

How do you measure that?

Baseball savant shows 1,536 pitches with a 13% whiff %

That's 201 swing and misses

He has 107 hits

math doesnt work the way you are calculating.

Contact percentage is the number of times donovan has swung and missed.

Donovan has faced 1536 pitches, not donovan has swing at 1536 pitches.

Many were balls or called strikes. Donovan has only swung at 579 pitches it says as thats how many competitive swing he has. 13% whiff rate of 569 swings would only be 76 swing and misses

Good work by all as that is a neat stat. Another reason why I play him at second and JJ at third next year.

Yes, I understand that now.

Note the first statement was a question. I didn't fully look at the numbers.

Thanks

He does, he’s at 82 swings and misses and 107 hits.

Burleson is also ahead with 86 swings and misses and 90 hits.

And Winn isn’t too far off either with 113 swings and misses and 94 hits.
