2026 rotation

Gray
Doyle
McGreevy
Libertore
?
Pallante
Gallen Valdez and Cease are available. Which one would you want? Is there another SP that fits? IMO needs to be a 1 or a 2 if they truly want to compete. Don’t put so much pressure on Doyle as a rookie

Knowing Doyle's personality from seeing him at Tenn. , there won't be pressure. The team is in a rebuild and he will probably feel less pressure than he did for the Vols trying to get to the College WS in Omaho . I am not concerned about pressure for him . He will be playing for very revamped Cardinal team. Let him have fun and fire the ball and act 'crazy' out there !

But they still need to add to the top. Gray is not a true #1 and Doyle according to most projects as a #2 unless secondaries develop more. Libertore and McGreevy are bottom of the rotation guys and Pallante is a meh 5-6. Everyone knows injuries will happen and teams need 7SP. Just hope they don’t go after another bottom of the rotation guy and end up with quantity and not quality

From these three Framber Valdez, all day, every day. I don’t see the Cardinals going that route but Valdez would be a nice TOTR guy. We can’t grow one so going the FA route will be expensive.

That is respectable and could close the gap. Spend Dewitt.

Robberse, Thompson, Bedell...will all have a go come spring...they'll probably sign a vet to a cheap contract. 2026 is still part of the rebuild.
Doyle can, and probably will crack the Rotation at some point in 2026...if he pitches well and develops well in the minors. The fastball plays , it's plays well

I can't believe everyone is overlooking Aaron Wilkerson.

Do you really think the cardinals would invest in a top line starter, especially with a major work stoppage on the horizon? No chance

They cannot fill these holes internally with unproven youth. Good teams add 1 young SP per year. No more. 1 veteran TOR SP is needed or they will be in this same spot next year again.

They don’t have any option unless they want less than 1M fans next season.

to be frank, I expect them to struggle next year pitching wise. Once the labor dispute is finished you'll see a better product...2027 if they play the season, 2028 more likely. The offense will be much improved next season, though.

Gray will be gone. Doyle may replace him but I don’t see another TOR SP in the org. A lot of 3-5 types which is fine but they need to add a dependable guy at the top until one aside from Doyle develops

If Johnny bow ties was still running his circus, the 2026 rotation would be:
Gray
Liberatore
McGreevy
Pallante
Rich Hill
