No but it probably did for you. They've know he had to go, I'm 110% sure that Mo has tried to trade him to every team in the world and got ZERO offers. So once they knew they couldn't trade for anything, they cut him. They had to do the job of trying to trade him. Would you and I and everyone else on CT like to have seen him gone sooner, sure but they still had to try 1- to fix him (failed) 2 to trade him (failed), 3 Last resort, DFA him, success

Marmol has wanted Fedde out of the rotation for a while. Mo wouldn't do it. One of the many reasons Mo sucks at his job is because he's always too slow to make a move.
