Sadly we need him to soak up some innings, but he can’t be in the rotation next year. He might be able to be used as a long relief or swing man down the road.

He is horrible.
I remember being so hopeful for him in the offseason. I remember seeing videos of him in some techy pitching lab. Pitching labs are the new scam man. That or our coaching is the worst in the league.

AP is a solid #4 or #5 in a competitive MLB rotation. The Cards rotation is not competitive and is just pretty awful right now. McGreevy is the bright spot.

He’s not in a competitive rotation. Nor is he on a competitive team. I think he’d be an solid #5 on a competitive MLB team.

He was good last year, he’s just not locating well right now. He shouldn’t be given up on just yet. Sometimes, pitchers need to go through these tough times to get better in the long run.

Yep. 110 ERA+ last season, 88 this season. Difficult to have all 5 starters 1 through 5 be above average.
Unfortunately, before the Fedde DFA the ERA+s were 103, 101, 88, 80, 80. That's not good.

Remember just a couple months ago when most of CardsTalk thought Pallante was a decent number 3 at worst?
This rotation sucked before they ever pitched an inning.

He is clearly out of gas! Reminds me of Kevin Seigrist whom they burned out too soon.
