Should be a few franchises that need contraction, no expansion needed. Baseball is already a convoluted mess.

If the MLB talent pool was getting deeper, I’d say sure bring on two more teams. But that is definitely not the case. We are watching a very diluted product.

With TV money down and everyone except the major markets experiencing a decline in attendance, the expansion fees for two new teams are another source of income. Thirty owners dividing 3 billion dollars is money in their pockets.

Relocation(s) for a few would be a better pursuit than further expansion.
Contraction wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Apologies for sticking my nose in, but in this case he was actually agreeing with you.
I will now respectfully butt out.

Do they have (censored) enough talent to fill out 2 more teams. I agree 32 should be the goal.

Thanks, maybe I should take him off the list. I just never saw him agree with anything I ever posted. Thanks for clearing that up.

Not enough pitching for sure, unless they raid the Japanese and Korean Baseball leagues. Those guys look pretty good, at least the ones coming over lately.

There are over 5M people in San Antonio/Austin - and they are only about 75 miles apart.
Entire area is growing like crazy and that won't change.
Domed stadium just north of San Antonio would be perfect for MLB.
Montreal should be back in the mix as well.
Nashville?
Maybe - but limited future upside.
Salt Lake City?
Terrible.

Here's what contraction would look like:
1. Our owner won't spend enough.
2. Our pitchers can't miss enough bats.
3. Our hitter's won't stop swinging a awful pitches
4. Our defense isn't quick enough.
5. Our manager shouldn't be a manager.

He’s incredibly ornery. I can understand your thinking. However in this case, to be fair to both of you, I wanted to point it out.
