Victor Scott Since 5/12/25

167 At Bats
.192 AVG, .561 OPS
He has 17 extra base hits on the year. Of course he steals bases and plays good defense, but I mean overall why aren’t people Jordan Walker level disappointed?
Are we happy with his ceiling being 2021 Harrison Bader?

Because he didn't have as high of expectations. And it's also basically his first year.

Because most posters on here are Sheep and also, if you have an unpopular opinion you will get "keyboard Bullied". I think the guy stinks myself but he is still young and he could improve.

What's the significance of May 12?

Just a random date that he peaked on average. He was hitting 292 and since then it’s been bad

Victor is not the answer in CF.
This team can ill afford such a light hitting
CF with our corner OF'ers being so anemic.
He'll get a second season to prove me wrong but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'd like to see them give Church a run. He's putting together a nice season in Memphis.

Argo isn't the answer but he works for now. If Church or somebody is given a chance, we will know better

He has been a little bit better since he was benched/day off on June 8th after he had gone through his brutal stretch.
He’s hitting .223/.310/.340 with 3 HRs and 14 RBI in 117 PAs. He’s in CF for his defense/speed over his hitting.
As for why people aren’t as upset, because the expectations for him were totally different. Walker was supposed to be the face of the franchise, while VS2 was about defense and speed with hopefully some offense to boot.

Those results shouldn’t surprise anyone. People here were more excited about spring training numbers than they were about the entire 2024 season in the minors. Made zero sense to have him be the OD CFer. Cards talk wasn’t alone. All the local media guys were clamoring for it at the end of ST as well.
Maybe he will learn to hit big league pitching at some point, but he can’t now and couldn’t in March either

Scott is there because the organization has little to none CF depth. Pretty simple.

Victor Scott was always a two-tool player. He currently has two tools. Maybe some day he's going to be able to hit for average, but not yet.
Walker was supposed to be a 5-tool player. He currently has no tools.

He has the arm still. Still a cannon

If they would get corner outfield right, then they could afford whatever Scott provides in center.

I was shocked to see Jordan and Mason have almost identical career big league offensive stats
