Only getting worse.
Not even two wins in a row
After a weak 500 June

We didn’t do well in the 13 games leading up to the AS break. Then 16-19 against the West. And after sweeping the DBacks earlier, this will be a hard fought win if we get one.
He should have his keys taken away. He has already turned a Mercedes Benz into a 1977 Pinto.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:26 am Hopefully Mo doesn't try to put ANOTHER square peg in a round hole and try and buy this deadline
Cheers to that. He should have never been brought back.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:31 amHe should have his keys taken away. Only thing I can think is MO has something on DeWitt, in regards to the Spygate thing with the Astros and is holding it over the old man's head.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:35 amCheers to that. This weird "he's the boss, but the next boss is already here" is dumb. It's one thing if that first boss has a recent track record of success but this set up seems like it's only to protect from bruising Mo's already considerable ego.
Not an impossible theory but I think it’s their long time friendship. If I had a longtime friend that helped me run my business successfully for over a decade and his performance started slipping it would take much longer for me to fire him. Maybe the lesser bond between ownership and Bloom will be a good thing. Less personal and more business.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:38 amOnly thing I can think is MO has something on DeWitt, in regards to the Spygate thing with the Astros and is holding it over the old man's head.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:35 amCheers to that. Yes. Those teams, aside from having a plethora of talent were both anchored by one of the best baseball players of all time and possibly THE best that most of us have ever laid eyes on.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:22 am Cardinals are pretenders with a poor organization from the top to the bottom. Too many years of thinking they can sneak into the playoffs on the cheap. They are selling the idea if you get in anything can happen. This is not 2006 or 2011. Both those teams were lightyears better than this disorganized mess.

That’s been true ever since our GM got promoted to POBO (a position that had never existed in the history of the Cardinals) after HackGate, while after TrashCanGate the Astros POBO got fired and suspended from MLB for 3 years.MIDMOBIRDTWO wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:38 amOnly thing I can think is MO has something on DeWitt, in regards to the Spygate thing with the Astros and is holding it over the old man's head.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025 11:35 amCheers to that.
