Alternative Proposals

Here are some alternative trade proposals to proposals I made in another thread. Again, I have weighed these transactions against what is published on Baseball Trade Values to check for fairness. I’m sure there are better algorithms, but this is the best one I have access to. In no way do I believe all of these players will be traded. These are just concepts for what types of things could be done.
#1- Pitching, Pitching, Pitching
Dodgers get Lars Nootbaar to replace the frightful production of Michael Conforto
Cardinals get Jackson Ferris 21 y/o LHP AA 6’4” 195 lb (MLB #67, Dodgers #4), River Ryan 26 y/o RHP MLB, and Bobby Miller 26 y/o RHP AAA. Ferris is the Dodgers top pitching prospect and is built and ranked similarly to Quinn Mathews- though 3 years younger. Ryan has #2 or #3 potential and is coming off TJ surgery. He will be ready to pitch next year. Miller is a reclamation project. He has done well at the big league level, but seems to have “lost it”. He has a big arm. He has literally zero trade value. If he were on the Cardinals staff he might make Liam Doyle look like the calm one.
#2- Trading a Catcher
Rays get Jimmy Crooks (Cardinals #6). The Rays need catching now, and in the future. They have no real catching prospects to look for.
Cardinals get Santiago Suarez 20 y/o RHP A+ 6’2” 175 lb (Rays #8) Both teams trade from surplus for areas of need.
#3- A Strikeout Machine (Again), Or…
Blue Jays get Andre Pallante and Ixan Henderson (Cardinals #25) Toronto has 2 pitchers who can be free agents after this year, and two after next year. This gives them help for this year, and 2 future rotation pieces.
Cardinals get Ricky Tiedemann 22 y/o LHP 6’4” 220 lb AAA (Blue Jays #4) Very high K rates. Coming off TJ and ready to pitch very soon.
If I’m disqualified from seeking Tiedemann because I had a proposal for him in the original thread, I would offer the same package to the Orioles for 1B-3B Coby Mayo.
#4- TOR
Rangers get Alec Burleson. They could use a 1B and a RF.
Cardinals get Alejandro Rosario 23 y/o RHP 6’1” 175 lb AA (Rangers #5) and Emiliano Teodo 24 y/o RHP 6’1” 165 lb AAA (Rangers #4) Rosario has stuff to front a rotation. Coming off TJ and will pitch next year. Teodo is a flyer. He has problems with health and control. His fastball grades 65/80, slider grades 70/80, and changeup grades 60/80. His fastball tops out at 102. The potential is off the charts, but he may never make it.
#5- A Righty Bat
Athletics get Nolan Gorman. The A’s have a really good infield of rookies with Kurz at 1B, Muncy at 2B, Jacob Wilson at SS, but lack a 3B.
Cardinals get Colby Thomas 24 y/o corner OF Right-Right MLB (Athletics #3) and Kade Morris 23 y/o RHP 6’3” 190 lb (Athletics #12). Thomas is a power hitting OF who strikes out some. He is blocked by Tyler Soderstrom, Denzel Clarke, Lawrence Butler and JJ Bleday in the OF as well as Brent Rooker at DH. Morris profiles as a back of rotation arm. Both teams trade from redundancies to address areas of need.
The Cardinals also need to trade Helsley, Fedde, Maton, and Matz. They could be used to expand any of these deals. They also have numerous players who could be used to round out a trade such as Chase Davis, Cesar Prieto, Luken Baker, Yohel Pozo, Ryan Fernandez and so on to help a deal get done.
If I had to rank these deals in the order of preference for me it would be 1, 5, 2, 3, and 4.

Interesting read. You are heavy on pitching. I’m wondering how the recent draft impacts their thinking on pitching needs when looking at future trades. They drafted a lot of pitchers I think. Your number 1 trade I would jump on with both feet and throw in my best hunting dog.

If you're going to have roster redundancies- have them in pitching. Not everyone needs a middle infielder, or a catcher, or a left handed hitter, but if you have extra pitching you can talk to any team about your future needs. Next to money, it is the universal currency in baseball.

Not sure the return but how about these ideas if the Cards fall well behind in the WC chase and decide to clean house:
-Noot & Fedde to the Astros?
-Helsley to the Phils, Tigers or M's?
-Pozo to the Mets or Padres?
-NADO waives to the Yankees or Dodgers?
-Burly to the Giants or M's?
-Maton to any of a dozen teams?
-Fedde to the Blue Jays or Giants?

Burly to the Red Sox. They’ve won 10 games in a row and are now right back in the heat of their division race, only 3 back of Toronto. MLB trade rumors did a deadline review of them and their needs are pitching, first base, and back up catcher. Bloom knows their system as well as anyone. Maybe package 1 of Pages/Pozo/Crooks with Burly.
Red Sox have a tough stretch coming up though. 3 @ the Cubs, 3 @ the Phillies, 3 home against the Dodgers.

Only wary of one of these. I obviously don't mind the idea of trading Noot or Fedde, but they probably need to go somewhere else. The Astros are destitute of prospects. There would be better suitors I think.

Burleson to the Red Sox is absolutely a fit, and they have numerous interesting trade pieces.

We need to stop wondering how we are going to put a rotation together, and start wondering how our pitchers are going to sort themselves out.

My best guess is that they won't trade anyone at the deadline who has team control left. They have never been bold or creative. Someone like that might get traded over the winter. Trading only the expiring contracts leaves us dealing for the Drew Rom's out there.

What do you see as the best path to bring in at least 2 quality young players?
