How about we play the games before selling based on projections. It's a game. It's baseball. Anything can happen.

As I’ve said all season, the team can both sell and improve their playoff chances. Mikolas and Fedde will be addition by subtraction. Swapping Arenado’s at bats for Gorman, Saggese, maybe Weathwrholt is probably a neutral move. Get rid of those three for any upside you can get.

The only moves that would hurt the team for 2025 would be trading Matz and Helsley. But I’d still move at least one of them because it’s worth it for 2026 and beyond. Maybe you get some under the radar bullpen arms back with some of what you sell to mitigate the damage.

Matz should be moved and if someone blows you away Helsley as well.

Their best days are both behind them.

Before the others add. That’s the real issue. For the cards to get to 90 wins they need to add BIG pieces and they simply don’t have the stomach for it even with all this unspent $.
