Do you anticipate new philosophy with Bloom?

I sure do .
I anticipate Bloom/ Cerfolio to run the organization quite differently.
Based on Bloom’s past stops, I feel he will be more active in trades.
Also , think in rebuilding the roster minor leaguers will be promoted faster .
More technology that Mo was hesitant to do.
A new Cardinal Way !

100%

May succeed

May fail

But at least we have two smart baseball minds now running the show and not a stale, outdated model that BDWJr/Mo have been running for too long.

I expect a philosophy. That’s a change

No. Any philosophic change will come from DeWitt. And he seems hell bent of the current effort to: "Win enough to stay in contention and sell tickets -- Rinse and repeat."

How can he have his own philosophy without the blessing of the owner. No go at this station.

Obviously just a guess since I have ZERO inside knowledge of Ownership and the FO.
And that guess is that Bloom’s strength being in development of the farm system will shift the philosophy more toward draft/development?

   Seriously!

Mozeliak’s go-to “strategy” has been hope, and hope is not a strategy.

I hope so. If not this is all a waste of time.

Much has been reported on the Cardinals "reset". Below are links to some of those press conferences and interviews where ownership discusses this reset. BDW and Mo both acknowledge that a philosophy change is in the works.

The hiring of Bloom, Cerfolio and a host of new analytics and development people from outside the organization also points to the Cards heading in a new direction. It looks like Mo's incestuous hiring practices are a thing of the past. Perhaps the echo chamber is being broken.

The only thing that Bloom accomplished was to increase the number of coaches for the Red Sox's minor league. He never played pro ball and he needed 2 years in the Cardinals's organization.

Most GMs or all get fired and many if not most have a worse record than Bow tie. Hard to average 90 for many years unless you are the Yankees.

Moe didn’t have a philosophy (that would have taken meaningful thought). So, any philosophy that Bloom brings will be “new”. He also knew nothing about talent evaluation. He would have spent a ton of time sleeping on the beach if StL had one. He is averse to work. His GM hasn’t been heard from this year. It can’t get worse. Can’t wait to see what the Bloom tenure brings to this franchise. The work and thought that goes into coming up with a philosophy will be a welcome change.

Something of a crossroads for the organization…

A new guy in charge…which road does he…and the owner…choose?

Aggressively pursue the rebuild by shedding older players and obtaining youth

or

Pander to the third wild card, anything can happen crowd with a patch here and a patch there…

My guess is the latter…

Hopefully, Bloom has secured assurances from DeWitt that allow him to do his job in his own way. Simply sticking with the current plan won't work.

DeWitt can focus on developing a farm system that supplies the MLB club. But rebuilding the system to meet those goals will take years. In the meantime, he better be prepared to spend for pitching and a power bat. If he isn't, don't expect to compete (or draw fans).

Mo's philosophy was whatever PR lie could be invented to match the roster already on hand and be an excuse not to spend more money (although main issue was his wasted money) I forgot, is Mo on the dont need impact bats or teams do need impact bats train this year?
