Currently on a 12 game hitting streak, he’s been for the most part consistent in Memphis this season offensively.

He hasn’t had an OPS lower than .707 for a month this season and this so far is his first month with an OPS above .800, as he is currently at .919 through 7 games in July.

That compares to JT Realmuto who is at 90.5 mph this year and 45.5% hard hit%, which are both above average numbers for JT in his career.

He has 124 RBI in 665 PA the last 2 years between AA and AAA.

Defensively he has a .992 fielding% 7 double plays, 8 passed balls (had 7 last year), and has thrown out 28% (21 of 74) of would be base stealers which is a good amount above the league average of 22%.

Logically he’s one of our better trade chips. But I also wouldn’t mind seeing him get a callup soon.

If you plan to trade him, don't call him up and expose him. Let him rip up AAA pitchers for all of July. Teams can dream on that a little.

If herrera cant catch, i dont know how you could consider trading him. Pages isnt a long term answer. Maybe if bernall appears to be the guy instead but right now we need a better catcher than pages

If you are one of those people who think Crooks should be traded you are retarded...sorry, but you are. I'd move Walker before Crooks.

+1 if you trade crooks and Bernal doesn’t work out then you are screwed with pages for several more years. No way should they go into next season with pages catching.

True. Pages can't hit for [shirt] and lets too many balls get past him with runners on. I'm hoping that he is just a "band aid" til Crooks or Bernal are ready, which should be very soon...

I might start the season with Crooks up here, but I'm waiting to call up Bernal until I see what he's doing in Memphis. He's slowed down quite a bit the past few weeks. But I definitely do believe that we'll see him at some point in 2026.

Crooks probably has more value than Walker at this point. Walker looks like he's been exposed in the bigs. Crooks obviously hasn't. You can more easily sell dreams of Crooks to teams. Outside of his age, I don't think that's true of Walker.

I'm not saying I would sell Crooks at the deadline. I'd be shocked if what I'm about to say is even a dream at this point, but if we were to go after a big fish at the deadline, and the other team asked for Crooks? I would hurt, but I wouldn't hesitate.

I am one of those people. Crooks is on my short list to be traded. If he has a .756 OPS at Memphis that probably translates to a sub .700 OPS in the majors. He's another lefty bat on a lefty heavy team. If he was all we had, I'd be glad to have him. He is not. Bernal is your guy. Crooks has value- trade him. Call me what you will.

Fairly obvious Crooks will be in STL later this year or at the beginning of next.
That calculation by the Cardinals is the final component which has ended Herrera's career as a catcher.
Expect a RH/LH catching time share for the Cardinals next year.
Will it be Pages or Pozo who shares with Crooks?
Or, will Herrera replace Lars The Human Sushi-baar in LF, thereby creating enough RH DH PA's for Pozo to stick?
That is obviously the path STL is investigating right now.
The other question involves the future of RF - Burleson or Walker - but that is a discussion for another thread.

I tend to agree... though still in no hurry to trade Walker.
