How is that even possible? That tells me there is a definite chemistry issue going on. It just makes no sense. Not all of the losses have been due to an early blow out from the starting pitcher. However the offense just goes to nothing once the other team scores first and early it seems. That tells me the coaches are not managing the game as it flows, nor are they managing the players. They are not picking up on opposing pitcher tendencies nor are they lighting a fire under the guys to get motivated to earn their paychecks. If there is a sign a manager change is needed this is one to me. Or are they going to be complacent because this was supposed to be a down year? There needs to be the obvious also and that is some guys just moved to the pen, traded or released. Mikolas and Fedde are just not getting it done. Even though McGreevy is not as lights out as last year he deserves a chance. Worst case put Matz in also. But Mikolas and Fedde need out. That too is a manager issue.

They are missing Herrera in the middle of the lineup and it really shows. Plus, Oli has never shown much interest in riding the hot player. So Gorman starts to get on a roll and sits, etc.. Nado missing time hurts as well as the games WC missed. Guys like Burley are role players, but they are not going to carry you for long. You need all hands on deck for the team to roll at all on offense. I agree on Matz. Why not let him start and toss 3-4 innings? I realize he is not stretched out, but compared to MM and Fedde....

Big difference between healthy and injured starters. Our depth sucks.

There is something to the fact that they were shutouts. That means at least 54 non scoring innings. Probably like 60 scoreless innings in those 7 losses.

Combination of injured starters with remaining guys ice cold.

the starting rotation is healthy....if that's crumbling, then we have no hope.

We can't fix both stagnated/injured offense, and crumbling rotation/leaky BP.

Not many can. We still have defense. That plays every game. What we need is a string of winning baseball. That should keep the grand illusion alive.
