Cardinals currently have longest winning streak in NL Central

Yes, a 1 game winning streak as Cubs, Brewers, Reds, and Pirates all lost today. Seems odd to type that especially since the Cardinals have the worst NLC division W-L record in the last 10 games at 4-6 .

Other NLC news: In the Brewers loss to Miami, 1st baseman Rhys Hoskins injured his left thumb executing a swipe tag on the Marlin runner . X rays show no fracture but he was removed from the game after that inning as he could not grip a bat ( that thumb is bottom hand of his righty swing ) .
Manager Pat Murphy expects him to be out at least 'a few days' .

Regarding playoff race : Excluding the three division leaders , here are the losses for the wildcard
Mets 38
Brewers 40
Padres 40 ( Padres play Rangers later tonight )
- - - - - - - - - -
Cardinals 42
Giants 42
Note: Cardinals are 42-40 Giants 47-42

I hesitated to point out that Pittsburgh has not played yet….because he seems so excited to post something positive about the club…

But reality got the better of me….

Cards fans across the nation look to Seattle in hopes the Marines can confirm this streak…

No problem with pointing out the Pirates game was later in evening at Seattle .
Good news is that the Mariners gave the Pirates a 1-0 loss. So all is good ! All NLC teams did lose (with exception of Cardinals )

Double good news is that the Rangers just defeated the Padres tonight 7-4 ! Padres are now 47-41 wit Cardinals at 48-42.

Obviously I want the team to win the NLC but at least being in a September pennant race will tell us more about the development of the young players.
Gorman, Walker, Saggese, Scott, McGreevy, etc need that experience!

Probanly add Wetherholt as likely he would be called up similar to Winn September call-up couple years ago. If JJ brought up, he would get playing time too.

From Sept. 5th til 28th , the Cardinals have 6 games each vs. Giants and Brewers. Both should be vying for playoff spots.
Final 3 games vs. Cubs at Wrigley.
