5.5 back of 1st place but currently sitting in the 3rd wildcard spot to make the playoffs.
You mentioned 8.5 back on Sunday if Cards get swept , well currently the Padres are 8.5 back of the Dodgers yet they are also tied for 3rd wildcard spot. Giants are 9.0 back of LAD yet they are right there fighting for playoffs too.

Only 1 game worse than a week ago today behind the Cubs and still sitting in a playoff spot. Take 2/3 at Wrigley and right the ship.
