He's not as fast as most people on here think he is

He can't read pitchers very well. His SB rate sucks as a result.

He stole 75 (out of 85 attempts) in 2 minor league seasons. He said in Spring training:

"I want to take 30-40 (steals) this year" per John Denton. Something has changed.

When he jogged to 1B a few days ago and we were told Oli told him to do it, he must have nagging injuries. Since the Cards saw fit to not actually have a back[up SS, Winn plays every game. Given his small frame, that is going to take its toll on him and it appears to have done so. I less worried about him stealing bags than wearing down and being unable to play well overall. His bat is heating up and the Cards have a good one in Winn. If he can steal bags in the future great. But, it does not appear to be happening this year.

Speed, the ability to read the pitcher and the durability to slide into a base at full speed. I was amazed at Brock for having the durability to do that and get 3,000 hits.

This isn't the minor leagues

Winn just needs to concentrate on hitting and fielding. Stealing bases is not a part of his skill set.

Afraid his earrings would get caught in an infielder's glove, causing injury?
