Bubbles and the Padres...tied with the Catds...

[fork]ing Mo and Oli!

Can't wait till their both gone!

Paul Goldschmidt:

Goldschmidt’s scorching-hot start to the season put the former NL MVP in the All-Star Game conversation. Through May he was slashing an impressive .333/.387/.480 as he rebounded from a down year with the Cardinals in 2024. But Goldschmidt came crashing back to earth in June. He’s slashed a paltry .143/.214/.247 in 22 games this month, adding just 2 home runs and 4 RBI.

He usually starts slow and heats up toward the end of
the season.
I bet he corrects this.
Too good of a player.

And yet he's doing the opposite. I bet he finishes with a sub 750 OPS

Freddy Freeman hot his first HR since May 11th yesterday.

We'll see.
What's Freddy Freeman got to do with Paul?
How do you connect those two?

Might be a good lesson for the big time CT spenders.

Also interesting tidbit: the oft disparaged NL Central is the only division in MLB which currently has FOUR teams with over .500 records.

the difference is if you spend 350 million dollars on payroll nothing less than a WS will do....

Not true. That’s mental speak. If you don’t win it it will have to do. Thrill of victory; agony of defeat. That’s sports.

The real point here is money is no guarantee, but chances are, it’s gonna be a thrilling season.

the truth is the cards winning the world series on 06 and 11 with teams that nobody expected is far more thrilling than say the dodgers winning the WS after spending 400 million dollars and putting an all star at every position...the game would be a lot better if financial considerations did not dominate our discussions and there was some sort of reasonable salary cap..that said I would rather be a cards fan than a didgers fan but thats me

Let’s condense. Are you saying a dominant season is no fun. Say 2005, 2004, etc. they were great, but we didn’t win. How about a dominating season with no win, and match it against a middle road team who, ironically, wins. Which is the better emotional season.
