If DeWitt (and his many partners) wanted to sell the team, they would have a lot of buyers. As of early 2025, there are 813 billionaires in the United States. And it's an incredible investment. Break even or better on Operating Income and market value increases at better than 10%/yr. (Forbes values are substantially undervalued compared to the last 5 or more sales of teams.)
But of course, no one knows what that new ownership would bring. There are a lot of bad owners.
Trades? Who exactly would they trade - and for whom? Empty words without at least a suggestion.

Tiger Woods, Albert Pujols, and Yadier Molina with some other investors. We’d wopujolina all over the competition.

Tiger Woods would be good addition in ownership.
He could attract free agents as on days off in St.Louis he could join the players in their golf outings… play Whistling Straits in Wisconsin on off day there, etc.

Trade deadlines are always interesting.
And for the record.....I’ve never liked or understood the whole buyer or seller labels?
If forced to make a prediction this early I don’t think they make any major moves.

And whatever move they do make, it will be a no. 2 to Scouty.

A and B are easy. Private Equity is getting the professional sports business. There would be buyers if the cardinals were for sale
