That's incredible. The mother's conduct was awful and she deserves it, but it takes two to tango.

Anybody else remember one of those Dominican stars killing a pro and getting a $75 fine many years ago. Likely something one would like to erase from the memory bank. This is despicable conduct on this guy's part.

Just to clarify the guilty verdict was in Dominican Republic. Suspended is ridiculous. The mother was trafficking the daughter. He will lose his visa and not be able to stay or play here at least.

No team would have signed him/wanted him anyways. He would have to join Trevor Bauer overseas. Maybe they can sign him and Julio Urias.

That was what I was thinking.

If the MLBPA tries to go to bat for him...I hope the public calls them out because you know that contract they want on the books being paid because it was the blueprint for future young stud contracts. Then again can't pay him if he's not allowed in the country, and if he's allowed, again, call out the politicians who try to get this chud back into the USA because you know there will be some who try. Remember, MLB basically blacklisted Bauer for his conduct (real or imagined) against adults, I hope MLB lifetime bans him and puts any possible question of him ever playing MLB baseball again to an end.

The Rays lose their young All Star/future franchise cornerstone and still treaded water in the tough AL East last year. This year they sit 11 above .500. They barely miss him. I hope Bloom does something similar with our player development system.

With this conviction for moral turpitude, Franco will have great difficulty getting a visa back into the USA and even if he did, he is absolutely toxic to any MLB team. Unlike Trevor Bauer --- a first class jerk and @-h0le to the max --- Franco is convicted and [raped] an underage girl.
