Pitched on season, 1972 with Cardinals with a 3 - 1 record. In all total he had a decent career.

He gave us two good years of relief.
I never knew he was the father of David Segui until I looked at Baseball Reference just now. David had a good 15 year career. Father also had 15 year career. Pretty impressive.

Diego was an effective pitcher for many years, and an original Seattle Pilot in 1969 (Ball Four).
He led the AL in ERA in 1970 and had his highest save total of 17 with the 1973 Cardinals that just missed the postseason that year.
Well done, Diego.

Probably not too many father-son duos with 15+ years as a player in the MLB in history.

He was the starting pitcher for the franchise's first official MLB game.

I so vividly remember his card as a Cardinal. His name was so exotic and as a 6 or 7 yo I remember trying to figure out how to pronounce it.
1 1/2 seasons in St. Louis, 98 appearances, 125 ERA+.
