I have had this, and it's no cake walk.
They have put him on the 10 day DL, but it is going to be much longer than that.
Burleson full time, anyone?

Season from hell for the young man.
Get well, get back into shape and come out firing.

If Burleson continues to rake, I would not be surprised to see him packaged and moved at the deadline.

Understand your thinking, Satch. I just wonder how much this has bothered him, if at all, this season. I'd hate to give up too early on a kid with his talents, though they have only surfaced a few times this season.
Patience by me? Yeah, I surprised myself here.

This makes absolutely no sense.
"Walker left the ballpark Tuesday night after feeling some discomfort, and he spent the night in a hospital for observation. By Wednesday, he was home and feeling better after receiving treatment, according to manager Oliver Marmol."
You do not get overnight treatment for an appendicitis. I was in the hospital five days, although it was many years ago.
Something here is not tracking.

Don't they remove the appendix?

They should. Once it inflames the chance for rupture goes up. Then it’s a week or so with little movement. Then a week or so of not hurting. Could be awhile.

And nobody knows what the actual use of the appendix is.

Except for being an addendum in a book.

Sometimes the treatment is antibiotics and observation to see if the infection subsides.

They’ve made several medical innovations in the intervening 80 years!

It’s my understanding that appendicitis and appendectomy are not the same thing. That’s a bummer for Walker. As for AB taking most of the starts in RF, I guess he’s the best answer, for now. I just don’t think he has much defensive value long term.

After an appendectomy, you’re typically home the next day.
If it is a ruptured appendix, then you may spend several days in the hospital for antibiotics.
Very few people spend five days in the hospital anymore for a surgery.

Tough break.
Hope the kid bounces back. He’s had some rough luck.
