Fwiw, I was looking at Hampson’s career numbers and his best MLB season came in 2023 when he was with Miami and Brant Brown was his hitting coach. Wonder if Brownie had good things to say about him.

At the very least, hampson is much better defensively than barrero and cam be defensive replacement for burly.. Barrero couldnt hit or field.

Hampson can at least field and is fast and can pinch run.

Well hampson is the backup cf as well as ss while fermin doesnt play outfield.

Im not high on fermin. Hes had opportunities before and he did nothing at mlb.

But more importantly, again hampson plays cf.

I dont expect hampson to start many games and to nust be used as defensive replacement and punch runner late i. I ning amd otherwise only start when scott needs a day off. Saggese can fill in for winn. On hia days off.
