Good morning.
Cards x 3, Astos x 3, Cleveland x 3, Cards x 3, Twins x 3, Yankees x 3, and Sox x 3.
That’s a very tough haul in hot weather.
All times three games each series, all before the All Star break.
This is our chance- split with Cubs, above .500 the rest. Cubs should play no better than .500 in this stretch.
Heard it now- heard it here. Cards to within four games by AS break, in a reset.

The Cubs starter last night has been feast or famine- last seven games started, 4 games has given 6-8 runs per start; but only 1-2 in the other three starts.
Why does this matter? He will get four games against the aforementioned teams. If he continues this trend, will help us if he loses.

Those are good teams. It helps that Cubs that they are a better team than those mentioned.

If the Cubs over achieve from here to AS break, that’s about 100 games in. Good enough sample to work with projections.
Then They are probably real. If they should take a hit a bit, then a team has an opportunity to make a big impact.
Could be us.
After all- we have a staff and defense to compete.

Same stretch. We play Cubs x 3, Cleveland x 3, Pirates x 3, Cubs x 3, Nats x 3, and Braves x 3.

They're only 3.5 back now.
If the Cards go on a tear while the Cubs tank, everyone should send me a thank-you letter.
Finally got out of downtown yesterday afternoon so it only makes sense the Cards would start contending again now that I'm no longer cutting their ownership a monthly check.

They're set to get Imonaga back which will help them, being recalled Thurs so may face the Redbirds.

I read that. But he may still be limited to innings and a day gane at 97 degrees. I bet they skip him unless we are sweeping them.

I expect him to start Thur and go at least five innings as long as he's pitching well, could go even deeper.
I don't see them limiting him to an inning or two.

Or start him in Houston in a climate controlled park.

We’ll see how they handle it. Their most recent series vs winning teams dating back to April…
Lost 2 of 3 to Philadelphia
Lost 2 of 3 to San Fran
Lost 2 of 3 to New York Mets
Won 2 of 3 to Cincy
Won 2 of 3 to Cincy
Lost 2 of 3 to Seattle
Lost 2 of 3 to Philadelphia
Lost 2 of 3 to Detroit
Split 1 of 2 with Milwaukee
Lost to us last night
So other than Cincy, they’ve struggled to beat any good team.

Baseball players, just like us when we played in LL/HS/College, have played ball in the heat their whole lives.
These are young men in better shape than 99.9% of us, the heat isn't pleasant but doesn't keep them from playing either.
Hey I hope they do yank him after an inning or two if he starts, the guys an animal and why I kept pushing for us to sign him while others dreamt of getting Yamamoto (pipe dream).
But I don't see it happening.
He'll go as long as he can if he's pitching well.
