Yet ANOTHER Slugger Takes a Bullet Off the Hands

This is getting seriously out of (ahem) hand, with so many batters having their fingers crushed against the bat handle by a high 90s fastball or a low-99s cutter or slider with late break.
I watch MLB's Rapid Recap daily, and it's rare to go one day without such a painful and/or disabling injury.
Now it's AZ, at Rate Field vs, the White Sox, having to remove the NL's leading RBI man, 3B'man Geno Suarez, while they're still waiting to see how much longer Corbin Carroll will be out with the same injury.
Is it time to assign TWO bases for a HBP? It's been one base for over 100 years, back when only Walter Johnson fired howitzers.
Is it time for hitters to wear hockey gloves at bat?

I'm certainly not for greater penalties for this situation. If there can be added protection with out it gaining an advantage, that sounds fine.

If you hit a guy, you have to stand in and pinch hit for your DH. Could be fun to watch.

Is it really getting out of hand? Or is it just your perception?

It’s a sport where they already body armor up head to toe. Why not add some more. Soon they will have bionic eyes anyway.
Makes softball an enjoyable pastime.

Don't dive into the pitch. That's on the batter.

Sure stand close to the plate hanging over dug in with no real skill or thought of having to bail out……
You think pitchers never head hunted before in MLB??? Batters have no fear and those are the consequences
Gibson is rolling over in his grave

I never understood why the gloves didn’t have more protection. Lose your stars product goes to chit.
