Alec Burleson/Andre Pallante (TB)

The Cardinals should attempt to trade Alec Burleson. I’m not a hater, and I don’t just want to offload him. He can hit and he is not a rental, so there is a market and the possibility of a return. My suggestion is to package him with Andre Pallante to get a better return. There are several teams looking for either a starting pitcher/1B or starting pitcher/OF combo.
My preferred target for Burleson/Pallante is the Boston Red Sox. They have been without 1B Triston Casas and their starting pitching has not been good outside of Crochet. Burleson and Pallante would help without breaking the bank.
In return, I want Franklin Arias, Triston Casas, Nelly Taylor, and Dalvinson Reyes. Arias is a SS that also plays 2B. He is the Red Sox #3 prospect and the #57 prospect in all of baseball. He is 19 and currently playing at A+. He can hit, hit, hit, and is probably ready to be promoted. In 2023 he hit .350 with a .893 OPS. Last year he his .309 with a .896 OPS. This year he is hitting .316 with a .800 OPS. Triston Casas could DH and either play 1B after Contreras is gone, or be moved. Nelly Taylor is the Sox #20 prospect. He is 22 years old and playing center field in high A. He is an excellent fielder. He is fast and a base stealing threat. He hits left-handed for power. Strikes out some. Dalvinson Reyes is an 18-year-old right-handed pitcher playing in the Rookie League this year. He is 6’5” and 200 lb and possesses a fastball in the low 90’s.
Comment on the above, rank the below, or make suggestions of your own.
1) Burleson and Pallante to Boston for Franklin Arias, Triston Casas, Nelly Taylor, and Dalvinson Reyes.
2) Burleson and Pallante to Baltimore for Colby Mayo.
3) Burleson and Pallante to the Rangers for Alejandro Rosario and Emiliano Teodo.
4) Burleson and Pallante to Philadelphia for Justin Crawford, Mick Abel, and Mavis Graves.
5) Burleson and Pallante to the Royals for Noah Cameron and Vinnie Pasquantino (who could be flipped)
6) Alec Burleson to the Blue Jays for Ricky Tiedemann.

I wouldn't attempt to trade either. Burleson can hit. He's playable in LF and above average at 1b. Pallante is a solid 4th or 5th starter.

I was thinking it’s like a post signature using initials of the username?
Been hard at it apparently. I don’t follow the minors enough to weigh all the trade proposals but would probably get some engagement/traction with the prospect crowd if spaced out some because there is a lot to digest.

There are often thread titles using a players name- just helps to distinguish it from others (if there are any)

I'm sure you are right. I may wait a little bit and bump them one at a time.

Must have beat me to it by a second! Thought I’d at least bump for all the effort. Can’t answer the OP though lol.

I appreciate your effort TB. This roster is poorly constructed and HAS to be churned. I call it shuffling the deck. To me, none of the current major league players should be absolutely no trade. But you can't just move all of your barely average guy's and expect to get better. You have to keep some of the veteran guy's so you don't wind up like the Rockies. Guy's like Burly and Pallante are decent players who are cheap. You won't get much for them. I doubt either guy brings much even if packaged together. You have to be shrewd and trade guy's with value to get value.

Thanks. You'll get more for those guys than you are indicating. Some of the teams mentioned as trade partners have a few gaping holes to fill, while some positions just need incremental improvement. The added years of control help. Here are two examples most Cardinals fans can relate to: in 2011 the Cardinals were buyers and sent Colby Rasmus to the Blue Jays to get multiple players to fill holes. We (the buying team) sent away the best player in the trade, and in the end are glad we did. It got us where we wanted to go, so we don't regret the cost. In 2023 the Cardinals were sellers and sent Jordan Montgomery to the Rangers for a package of young players. We have gotten some use from John King but look forward to years of production from Thomas Saggese and Tekoah Roby. The Rangers only had Jordan Montgomery for the final two months of the season but probably have no regrets because he got them where they wanted to go. There are teams and deals like these out there.

Wonder if the Mariners would be interested in a combo Burleson plus take your pick of either Fedde, Pallante or Mikolas, as it looks like they need some SP reinforcement and an offensive piece.
The Cards sub in McGreevy to take the traded away SP's place.

They would very much be interested in Burleson (and a pitcher). Their offense has been bad, and they have big holes in RF and at 1B. DiPoto has already said he is willing to deal from his prospect pile. They would like to make a trade sooner than later. Don't think the Cardinals are there, but they should be. If you wait, you will have to compete with the Orioles, D-backs, and maybe the Braves or others in moving players. The market can become saturated and satisfied.

2011 deals are far removed from ones that occur in the 2020's

Keep proposing trades, one will actually match sooner or later. Has to happen before you reach 1,000,000 proposals.
