Just hit 31st homer. Now on pace for 66 as an everyday catcher. Also a gold glove defender. Don’t think he gets the attention he should be getting.

Most people probably don’t realize that entering this season Raleigh had more HRs than any catcher in MLB history through their first 4 seasons. He’s taken that power to another level this year.

Seattle got him for a bargain. Signed him last year to a six year $105 million contract thru 2031.

You're telling me.

Guy is the story of the season.

Has an advantage over bench in that he’s going to end up dh’ing about 40 games.

Seattle has treaded water but if they get it together no one would want to see them in the playoffs.

His name sounds like a college football matchup.

Pretty much has my vote for now although it's hard to ignore
Judge.

So currently the 39-37 Mariners have 4 position players with bWARS of Rodriguez +3.2, Raleigh 4.2, Arozarena 2.6 and Crawford 2.9 = +12.9
Meanwhile the 42-36 Cardinals top 4 position players have Donovan +2.1, Scott 1.7, Arenado 1.4 and Winn 1.1 = +6.3
Mariners have Gilbert, who has been out with injury, Woo and Castillo in their rotation. while the Cards have Gray, Libs and Fedde.
Just surprising to me the Mariners don't have a better record so far. Goes to show the Cards SP's have done well to date, while the Mariners could potentially get a lot better when they get Gilbert back and if they could trade for another decent SP before the deadline.
The Mariners rotation was projected to be good with depth just a year ago. I don't follow them, so not sure what all went down with that.
This might also show how the Cards could be pretty darn good if they had 1 really elite position player.

It's amazing what Raleigh has done so far, it's historically good, but Judge so far is having another historic season, and he plays for the Yankees, so ............

10 days ago, a post claimed that Judge was having "probably the greatest season in the history of the game" and "no one was talking about it".........Judge still leads MLB in more than a dozen offensive stats while Raleigh leads only in HR.
We are less than half way through the season, and either Judge or Raleigh may cool off, and someone else may catch fire.
Yaneverknow.

I hope Raleigh stays hot and gets the MVP, but if it is a close race between these two, Judge will get it.

It's because he's a catcher vs a corner OFer, that Raleigh is a true unicorn...

Agreed

A catcher w/this kind of (legit) power is indeed a unicorn.

And locked down for five more years after this at an insanely good price too (unless he has an opt out).

Fwiw, Gilbert has been back for 2 starts. He had 10 K’s in 5 IP giving up 2 runs vs the Red Sox on June 16th and he did well vs the Cubs yesterday until the 5th inning. Ended up with the win going 5 IP 8 H 4 R 3 BB 6 K.
