The energy of youth to be able to go out there again in game 2. Of course, if Olipad had let McGreevy go 6 innings, then maybe Leahy doesn't pitch and give up the lead..... Whatever, great for the kid, glad he had himself a record book day!

I'm not very good with MLB records, all time, but, there can't be too many, if any, other MLB pitchers that have gotten a win and a save in the same day. If you pitch a complete game, and it's a save situation in the ninth, would you get a win and a save. Not sure, hmm. Otherwise, I'd think it's pretty rare. Just sayin'.

No. Save sotuation are determined by score when you enter game. If you enter the game in 8th up 1 run then your team scores 10 runs in bottom half and you go back out to pitch 9th, you will get a save even though your team is up 11 runs now because it was save situation when you entereed.

Likewise, yiu cant create your own save situation

If it wasnt save criteria when you entered game, it cant later becime save for you although it can for another if they enter.

How does Granillo compare to Helsley as a closer, right now? IMO, Granillo has better control.

You can’t compare a vet and a rookie. Too much gap. You might compare results. I’d look at balls strikes and pitch counts. Makes Helsley more available.

Haven't seen Granillo blow any saves yet.

The immediate impact he has on closer is no one knows him. Other than division teams, no others will this year. Too short a window.

He could be a force early on.

Just imagine if Mo had called him up earlier instead of wasting games on the useless Roycrap?

I really liked the way he worked his slider.

My criteria is zero walks. If he don’t walk batters in the ninth in one run games, that’s a major start.

I thought he looked a lot like Lance Lynn.

I google deep searched it, and, it has happened a number of times. Most recently, Alex Colome did in in 2019. Crazy, would have thought it was really rare.
