Good morning.

Severe weather this afternoon in Chicago possibly. Then chance of rain all evening. If this forecast holds, surely a rain out.

Question. After 12-2 win, does DH on Thursday have any afffect on rotation.

When will it rain I feel the heat burning thru my shoes- Jackyl.

I smell rain.

At first glance I thought this was going to be another thread about the DH?? Ok you mean double header.

I'm waiting for the 6th man decision. Maybe a double header forces the issue.

After a win like last night, better to get back at it, or chill and bored in hotel, then gear up for a double header, or what.

We’ve already had 5 double headers this year, another one would make 6.

Last season we had 5 all season (only 1 at this point in the schedule).

In 2023 we had 1 all season and it wasn’t until July 1st.

In 2022 we had 6 all year, but 3 at this point.

Good legwork. So we are well ahead of last three seasons.

Any advantages there.

It's Sonny Gray today. Fedde tomorrow.

Rain repeatedly messes with Gray. He's not as effective with delays or DH. I don't know that any other starter would be. But it seems like his starts get rained on.

I don't have stats to verify that Gray brings the rain. Just a notion that he must have cursed the gods.

What’s crazy is just looking through the 2010s we rarely had more than 2-3 double headers for the whole seasons, some with zero. Yet since about 2021 we have been consistently 4-6 double headers (outside of 2023) with this year being the worst this early.

I don’t know that there’s an advantage to it, can mess with schedules.

Three of the rain outs were on the road. Two at home. Win two, split two, lost one.

If a DH is played tomorrow it would force them to go to a 6th starter as there are no off days.
Considering the opponent being relatively weak.
And
Gray pitching the other game
And
27th man added(pitcher of course!)
I could easily see them going to a bullpen game.
27th man call up would certainly factor in plus you’d be looking at off days Monday and today.
So pretty well rested!

I thought they were going to go to a 6 man rotation anyways. I guess that only lasted one start?

With a name like "Sonny" how can he keep getting so many rain games?

McGreevy is on spot, he could start one of the DH games as the 27th man!
